If you are faced with the unfortunate situation of having trouble with leaking water, knowing where your main shut-off valve is located may prevent water from flooding your home. Typically your main water shut-off is located in the basement beside the water meter. Turn it off immediately once you encounter an uncontrollable leak. Also please remember to exercise (turning it on and off) the main shut-off valve at least once per year as part of your yearly plumbing maintenance.
